Andrew, I was touched by your story, which aired on Sunday, July 17, 2011. In your interview, you asked “What would you do given the same circumstances”? I think that possibly your heart was emotionally enraged when your Sister, Catherine, told you that her ex-fiance killed your mother. Knowing how much you loved your mother and what she meant to you, I think your mind was set for revenge when Catherine handed you a gun in a paper bag. You asked, what would I do; I believe that I could never take a life because it’s not my right and because it’s against the rules of society. Prior to the horrible incident, I wish you could have had someone, anyone other than family, to confide in and hopefully that someone could have helped save you from making the biggest mistake of your life. The right thing to do is NOT take a life, an eye for an eye sort of thing because it would take yours’ in return, which it appears to have. I truly believe that you were an honorable and loving son. You took on such an enormous responsibility at such a young age taking care of your parents, although I believe they should have taken care of you first and let you be that child that you were; you were only 11 years old. No doubt that your parents were very proud of you and loved you very much. I commend you for sacrificing your life to put them first and make theirs more comfortable. I know no other children who could have taken on such a huge responsibility on their small shoulders. As for Catherine, she appears to have been an experienced manipulator all her life and used you for her death wish upon another. I’m sorry that you were caught in the middle of her malicious, deceitful and deadly wish. I hope some day, some how that you retain an excellent, experienced lawyer that will battle hard for you in court for a new trial. I truly believe that you deserve to be released from prison sooner than 100 years because that sentence is too harsh, especially for a young man who has not had any prior criminal record whatsoever. You may have held the gun, but it was Catherine who pulled the trigger. Had she not provided you with a gun or manipulated you to kill another, you would be a free man today. It’s Catherine’s loss to disown you. It’s you that should disown her for how she has impacted your life; she took your life away hoping to save her own. Until she faces the consequences of her own actions, she will be angry and miserable. I pray that something good come your way. Take care and God Bless you, Sofie.

Unbelievable film. Incredibly sad. What a horrible situation to be in. I feel for Andrew. I couldn’t imagine what I would do, but I would probably have done the same thing. He should spend a short term in prison, but not 100 years. Cathy Suh should be the one to remain in prison. Overall very sad.
